I want to express my gratitude to all of our families for your patience as we have worked diligently to reopen our schools. Barring any unforeseen issues, schools will reopen next Wednesday, October 16, 2024 on a two-hour delay. We will also have a two-hour delay on Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18 to give bus drivers and student drivers plenty of daylight during the morning commute so they can see any changes or potential hazards as we return to school safely. On Monday, October 21, 2024 we will be back on our regular schedule. Roads that will not be safe to travel for buses will be communicated to families by our school principals in the coming days. We will make every effort to reach each of our students so they can return to school safely.
Please remember that we offer free breakfast and lunch for each student and we encourage you to participate in this important program.
I would like to thank our community for your incredible response during this challenging time and for all those who volunteered in your communities. Madison County is a special place and it is fantastic that our schools will be reopening in the wake of such a devastating natural disaster. Our restart is a tribute to our staff, our students, and our community who have worked tirelessly every day to Make it Happen!
